The point is that she was more than a sexy, headless body.

I think the reference is about thier being no identity to the subject of the painting, not that the person behind it didn’t have dignity for doing a nude but rather they didn’t have an identity period.

She was lacking both a head and a name, reduced to salacious parts without identity. That doesn’t sound like “dignity” to me.
