Lady All Lives Matter

Uncritical laziness equally explains their original name and their proposed new one. They didn’t think to deep-dive on whether or not Lady A was an existing performer because they felt entitled to the name. It’s what fans call them within their bubble, and anything outside that felt irrelevant.

I have no idea how long they’ve been around, but I also remember the first time I heard their name, and I just thought “Wow, they’re super comfortable with their racist ancestry.”
I wish I could say I was shocked about how many people just chose to ignore that, or actually appreciated it for that reason.

The real Lady A, in Seattle, is a great musician and super nice lady. I’ve played with her a few times in the past at nonprofit events.  She has the right to her name and is on sound legal footing.  I hope she topples these assholes like a confederate statue.

I’d wonder why they never thought their name was a problem before now, because I always thought it was... but I won’t actually spend any time wondering because their name was on purpose and they liked it. Just like people that have their weddings at plantations.

Having seen a few Asian iterations of this, the premise was that some random anonymous celebrities are surprisingly good singers. There were surprisingly poignant singers who were just grateful to escape the pigeonholes in which they were stuck.

Why does a plastic poop-thing cost so much?

Not to be Helen Lovejoy about it, but are all of our kids going to grow up to have fecal fetishes because we encouraged this whole poop fad? We even gave anthromorphic turds big eyelashes and plump lips, just so kids would know that the turds were sexy female turds. 

My mom saw this at Walmart and thought it was a makeup kit. She almost bought it for me until she saw the price. I’m glad that she didn’t, but I do have a friend who would love it and use it for a purse.

Problem is, they are often the ones with legal jurisdiction, and the local PD will kick it back to them.

All I can feel reading this sequence of events is despair, as a woman. Have family and friends who support and worry for you, report for you, and report for yourself, and still no one will help you. And then you’re dead.

Usually a short face to face conversation with the perp is all it takes. Just to let them know they are being watched and are known to the police.

When pretty much anyone can own or possess a gun, pretty much any threat of physical violence is “imminent”.
