Agreed. I’m not a mom or even part of the “mom” demographic! But I went to the link and it said that Boomers and people from the west of the country, and suburbanites voted for him... It's true I'm a Californian suburbanite.

Why set it in the present day? What’s the point? Wouldn’t a period piece be more interesting? Isn’t that part of the charm of the comics?

Oh man, I have so many feelings about this issue. School nurse positions have been cut all over the country. I’ve worked at elementary schools that had one nurse for multiple schools, so she was only at one school for a few hours each week (and not everyday of the week either). So many kids today are on strong meds,

My mom was a teen when Grease first debuted on stage and I guess she saw it a few times on Broadway. She knew exactly how dirty it was and therefore never let me watch it as a child (even though most of the other girls had) *sigh*

There were two Roy Disneys - Walt’s brother & nephew. Looks like Tim Disney is the son of Roy E. Disney and grandson of Roy O. Disney. I’d have to guess that Tim has got to be loaded, so why this preschool director would want to mess with him is beyond me.

Lol, I’ve been keeping up with this story on Jezebel but the fact that the family here is a Disney family makes it that much funnier.

A lot of what makes it skeevy to me is the fact that most of these Youtubers are advertising to children/minors. Kids tend to not be savvy enough to realize that these Youtubers are being paid to shill these products. At least most everyone on Gawker Media sites are adults.

I’m sure people from other states do this too, but (luckily for us, unfortunate for the animal) other states’ weather is too harsh for many exotic animals to survive in.

I always wonder about that kind of thing when I see those commercials for home systems involving cameras, remote locking of doors, remote turning on/off lights, etc. Maybe it’s convenient for people, but I wonder about the security implications.

Interesting info. All I really know about it is that I saw Matthew Morrison on a talk show last year (probably Fallon?) and he got all huffy when the host was going on about how much he liked the movie Finding Neverland. It really turned me off, to be honest. Talking about the movie that inspired the musical isn’t

Seriously! Of course it's always negative, ffs. There's nothing positive about rabies :/

I live in LA County and whenever I'm on Craigslist I see a million ads looking for Lyft & Uber drivers :/

And though it’s not the case here, changing Jon to John has some religious implications. John is used mainly as a Christian name nowadays, while Jonathan can be more Jewish. So, if someone spelled Jon Stewart’s name as “John,” that would be a problem.

Heh. Seriously though...it’s just mean to put them in someone’s workplace :[

I mean, it is sort of depressing, but it’s also very surreal so I don’t find it too depressing, but YMMV

Wuthering Heights is my favorite, but I know many readers have mixed feelings on it. Have you read any Shirley Jackson? Maybe she’s a bit new to be a “classic,” but I love her. Especially “We Have Always Lived in the Castle.”

Ooh, I’ll definitely give Rashida Jones’ show a try. Sounds unique. Mysterious fortune teller? Yes please.

*shuddering*

Ugh, hissing cockroaches are huge. Luckily they are much more stationary than regular cockroaches (I wouldn’t want to see one of those scuttle around, ugh). The daycare I was working in over the summer had some hissing cockroaches donated to them that had belonged to a class during the school year. I did not like

That sucks. Here in SoCal the high is in the 70s next week and even though it’s cloudy today, it’s still about 60.
