I’m on my phone now so I can't look for them, but I've seen really funny memes featuring Dan with captions about how him being Gossip Girl makes no fucking sense.

I also wouldn't know how to say it correctly, but then I'm Jewish so I don't really care. But I guess if you're going to pretend to be Christian you should probably know that, I guess.
They still have book fairs. About half the books are okay (some quality, some not), while the other half are God-awful movie/tv show/toy promotional tie-ins with very little educational value. Guess which ones the kids flock to? -__-
Someone could write about how he ran away & why he chose to do that. There are ways to talk about this man in other ways that give kids a better picture of what slavery was like.
Oh wow. Now I want to know about what books like that you’ve read. Remember any titles?
One of the weirdest things about this whole controversy (to me), is that an extremely similar scandal happened just a few months ago. Another picture book, named A Fine Dessert, also depicted slaves making desserts in a way that many found objectionable. You would have thought that Scholastic would have noticed what…
I guess I shouldn’t hate Jennifer Lawrence personally (because really - who’s going to turn down a sweet gig) but I am so over her playing 40-year-old characters with 40-year-old costar love interests. It bothers me in a very visceral way.
Haha, true.
From what I remember, Emily’s personality in general in that series was just wrong. She’s not supposed to be an Anne-knockoff at all.
I randomly watched that adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time a couple years ago because it was on Netflix (?) and it was sooooo bad! I heard that Disney is currently working on a legit adaptation though.
I've seen some of it. I didn't think it was very good....
Wait.....what? :o
Oh no! That's so sad :( All of my Anne books are from my Mom who bought them in Canada when she was in grad school there and I would be so upset if anyone threw them out!
I just want to say that I think it's really cool that you're from PEI.
I want someone to make a really good adaptation of Emily of New Moon (& sequels). You can really see L.M. Montgomery’s interest in the occult come through in certain parts.
Ooh. I don't know why (I must hate myself) but I've actually read all fucking 16 Pretty Little Liars books. I should take a listen!
Ooh, that sounds fun. Do you mostly look at retro series then?
I went to an Obama rally in 2008 and it was amaaaaaazing! If it's a good candidate, you should go!
I get really embarrassed for the author when I see ‘nonplussed’ used incorrectly in PUBLISHED books. Bemused too.
