His baby is 6 months old and he’s never been primary caretaker for even a day? Like, not even on weekends? Yikes.

It’s a good reveal, but imo, the Pretty Little Liars books have a much better A (Yes, I’ve read all the PLL books, and no, I do not recommend anyone else doing the same - they’re seriously terrible)

That phone call clip makes me laugh every time (link for anyone interested in watching - I guess they’ve taken it down from Youtube?)

Oh hell no. 6 is too old for that shit. I work with elementary schoolers and most would never dream of doing this. Even if the more bratty ones asked, they’d probably stop after being told no a few times. Throwing a tantrum is just..... :/ I’m sorry you had to deal with a kid who gets such lousy parenting. Seriously,

Didn’t Colbert leave at one point and not come back until after Jon started? You’re right that it’s a little weird though.

the thing that makes this book itself truly unpalatable is how this Jewish woman and the Jewish people in general are used as the background for a story written for a Christian argument about faith in a book produced for a Christian audience.

And tbh, I don’t want non-Jews using “Jew” anyway.

Also, the author of Summer of My German Soldier is actually Jewish, which is (quite obviously) not the case here. I can’t speak for all Jews, but I personally am perhaps even more disturbed that these Christian romance novels with Jewish characters invariably have them convert to Christianity. Not that the Nazi aspect

Is the title supposed to be a Poe reference?

Well, all of them turn off when something is done toasting, but not all turn off if you’re actually using it as an oven & cooking something - at least in my experience anyway.

We had one of those old ones when I was growing up. By the time we got a new one, it was probably 30-40 years old (quite a bit older than me, anyway) It still worked when we got rid of it, but it was small and I was afraid to use it since the outside got so hot, haha. They really don’t make ‘em like they used to

It does give off some heat, but not like a regular oven does. I mean, when it’s turned on you don’t really want to touch the outside of it (it gets pretty hot!) but it’s still good for summer.

I didn’t realize she was related to Blake Lively.

Oh, ok. Haha. She’s pretty famous (imo). She became famous as the lead in Joan of Arcadia and in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies. She’s been in other stuff since then, too.

Oh, and I don’t know if this counts, but Blake Lively’s half-sister was in Twin Peaks too (apparently)

(I had to log in to Jezebel just to tell you this, lol.....) Actually, Amber Tamblyn’s dad was in Twin Peaks too! I hope the image doesn’t come out crazy big though

The guy who wrote The Water Horse book is the same guy who wrote Babe (Dick King-Smith). I haven’t seen the movie of The Water Horse, but I thought that might be helpful information anyway...? (heh)

There’s a Rugrats episode with that plot (possibly many other shows though too, I’m not sure)
