As someone with two Chihuahuas, this story has made me so upset, oh my God. Fuck PETA

I tried the first couple of episodes when it first premiered, but found it sort of boring :[ I might give it another try, but I'm not sure.
Oh my Goddddddd. This sounds amazing! But then, I'd watch Lauren Graham in anything (just kidding, I don't watch Parenthood......sorry)
If one of them leaves, I'll bet they have some crazy stories to tell. Some commenters on Jezebel introduced me to ex-Quiverfull blogs, and I've been reading Cynthia Jeub's blog lately (she was on another TLC show called Kids by the Dozen). Her entries are powerful, but so sad and scary.
It's not that they have lawsuits - that's normal. It's the fact that they're using lawyers who use really offensive arguments to try to get out of paying money to injured parties.
LAUSD was in the news earlier this month for a shockingly similar story about a 14-year-old who was raped by one of her teachers. In that case, the school district hired a similarly disgusting attorney who made similarly gross arguments. I wonder how many other cases LAUSD has handled like this?
Holy crap. What the hell is LAUSD doing in court? This seems to be a pattern for them.
One hint I have is that what we call yams are actually dark orange sweet potatoes. True yams are a totally different kind of vegetable. So when looking for recipes, make sure you're looking at sweet potato recipes.
Good luck! You're so nice for cooking two meals. In my family I don't eat dairy (allergy) and my sister doesn't eat meat (vegetarian). We're all very used to cooking multiple dishes/meals, but it's a pain in the ass. If you can, maybe make certain dishes vegan, so you don't have to do two versions of the same food…
Haha, thanks! I'll swim now but I'm not a fan of being in deep water (but that fear extends from further back than that incidence - one reason I was reticent in going to the bottom of the deep pool in the first place!)
I think she really thought she was helping me reach the bottom of the pool. This was a swim class through my city's parks & rec department, not school gym class. Even though the instructor seemed so old & grown-up to me at the time, looking back I'm pretty sure most of the instructors were high school & college…
Lmao.
Just as well you didn't have one, because they apparently caused facial lacerations (among other injuries!)
Holy crap, that toy went really high.
They also had a PE TA (a boy in 9th grade, I believe) who would go into the locker room to get equipment & throw clothes in the washer & dryer. NOT A GREAT SET UP THERE. I was uncomfortable with it at the time but I sort of wondered if I was overreacting. Looking back I'm realizing that was reallyreally not ok. Gross.
I also remember the PE teacher's office being attached to the girls' locker room (where girls changed). There was a doorway between the office area and locker area...but no door. And mirrors on the wall so you could see what was happening in the locker room in the mirror, even if the wall blocked your normal range of…
I guess she trademarked the name, but I feel like she wouldn't be successful at pursuing any legal recourse. Can any lawyers help me out here?
Ugh, I remember we had a creepy PE teacher sort of like that back in jr high. We all had to wear black shorts and white shirts for PE class, but if it was cold we could wear any color sweats we wanted. He somehow got into his head that we still had to wear the black shorts under our sweats (this was not actually the…
Agreed. When I saw this story on Gawker yesterday (or whenever) I was pissed at the people who were saying that both parties were in the wrong here. A 14-year-old little girl doesn't want to get her hair wet (totally valid - getting your hair done is expensive) and doesn't participate in PE class. A little juvenile…
Seriously. I'm glad that her friend helped her and that someone decided to film this.
