When asked if he feels disrespected the correct answer should have been “yes because of how badly we were fucked around on the first responders bill in congress.”

“These guys are going to work like we do every day and all they want to feel respect and appreciation, and when you go to work and you don’t feel either one of those, you get depressed...” Gerard said about the NYPD.
Look to the retail or the service industry if you want to see people who get disrespected daily. And those workers don’t even get the perk of being able to kill people with impunity.
So many bad opinion columns could be avoided if more people on the NYT editorial page had grown up with the internet. It’s just a rotating pile of “can you believe people say mean things, on THE INTERNET?”
See, I think there *is* an alt-left, but it’s not at all what people like David Brooks are thinking of (and it’s admittedly kind of a Galaxy Brain take on my part.)
“I’m one of those centrists whose discomfort is intertwined with delusion, whose mild displeasure at real wrongs is corrupted by my existential smugness about my position in life and mediocrity.”
I remember during the campaign/just after the election, there was a photo of the entire Trump contigent on stage. Barron was playing “peek-a-boo” with one of his nieces/nephews. That’s the only time I’ve ever really seen him smile/happy.
“In fact we were playing 1 on 1 the other day and I blocked one of his shots and then dunked on him. A lot of people say I’m a great basketball player, probably the greatest player to ever come out of New York. A lot of people don’t know that, but that’s what a lot of people are saying.”
“No no no I’m 8 foot 12, believe me. Remember James NOmey (Comey), he was a midget compared to me!”
Fact: Stephanie Grisham has been arrested twice for DUIs and has been fired from two different jobs for plagiarism and falsified expense accounts.
Back in Obama or Clinton times, a President’s child would be disrespectful wearing such a slovenly outfit.
And yet, when asked, Trump claimed that he was still six inches taller than Barron.
I admire Beto for taking her on like this, but he should be careful and remember the famous quote: “Never wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get dirty and did you know that her dad is John McCain?”
I truly enjoy “Good Faith Questions Proffered In Good Faith” time, it is my favoritest of times.
Lol, I’m sorry, was your complaint not that she didn’t answer the question? And was my response not that she did?
This is painfully true. Where is Mark Ruffalo’s butt when we really need it?
I agree that it is common for politicians, especially in these formats where they have to leave a mark, to “pivot” questions into topics they want to talk about and they think will differentiate them, or to avoid a question they dont have a good answer for. That’s Yang shoving UBI into every response, or like anytime…
Because the question as posed is a silly, disingenuous tautology.
Excellent job of steering the question onto the path it SHOULD be on, Liz. Kudos. Let’s go get a beer.
To the distinguished lady from Massachusetts: whoop that ass.
