I like universe building but I don’t like waiting 12 or more years to get the universe. film it all at the same damn time like TV shows and I will be stoked.

Maybe part of the problem is that there is too much “universe” building, reboots, and copy-cat moves. It is understandable that Hollywood wants to produce something that will make money. But, they need to stop latching onto and exploiting every little thing that works.

That’s because incompetent execs get to keep their jobs.

I don’t know, maybe actors/actresses shouldn’t be making hundreds of millions for a couple of months work? Maybe some of that money could be redistributed to hire more and better writers, researchers, art studios, support staff and all the other small and large cogs that make a movie. Maybe that could help make the

Yes please can we bring this back. Enough of changing the system, its time to take it down and rebuild instead.

I agree with you, its like every other article. It would be fine if it was one of many but seriusly celebrity/fashion is like every other article. Try the magazine: womankind. They are more focused in this regard, and just have a lot of beautiful stuff.

This, along with Ta- Neihisi hot fire of an article today, is what I needed to read. Thank you.

This is the best post I’ve ever read on Kinja. Many Thanks!

Really? I’ve gotten quite the opposite impression from “The Youths,” that second-wavers are joyless has-beens who want to discourage “sex positivity” and find the notion of being a “chill girl” problematic. There is a lot of internalized misogyny in this country, and much of it is directed at second-wavers.

I’m concerned how much print space beauty and models occupy in Jezebel. This is a well-written article, but I think it’s sad when a formerly pretty feminist website seems to be turning into a site forwarding patriarchy. As feminists, we shouldn’t be focusing on beauty, model walks, etc. It all serves the male gaze,

God, I am just so FUCKING TIRED of all the second-wave feminist bashing. No one ever bashes throwback white male 60s radicals with antiquated, simplistic, and pseudo-colorblind views of gender, race, and economics with the same viciousness...instead, they turn them into cult political figures. Second-wave feminists

Kate Millett in particular helped me articulate to myself the ways that general gender politics influence even my most intimate relationships. In college, when I was reading her for class, I had some relationships with guys that were far more gender-conservative than I was used to, so her work helped me see some of

Sexual Politics was essential to my proto feminist self a few years ago. It does an awesome job unpacking how sexism is baked into the culture to be virtually indiscernible. I’ll never forget learning how women are relegated to the “animal sphere” of the nest and childrearing.

A reminder of the good old days when feminists actually wanted to destroy the patriarchy, as opposed to modern feminists who just want to live in it more comfortably.

Perez Hilton was a misogynistic self-hating a** who was the bell of the ball for a few years.

Yeah, I don’t believe the gossip industry is nicer for a second. There was a second coming of gossip friendly stars - instead of actors complying with studio orders, we have reality stars providing information to build their brands - but the real dirt is still gathered in dirty ways. They’re more likely to be from

The existence of Harvey Levine and his rise, disprove any idea that the gossip industry has gotten nicer.

Schrodinger’s Make up: Women do not care what men think about makeup and at the same time, it is the pressures of patriarchal men that make women wear makeup.

Here’s a radical idea: maybe it’s no one else’s business what you do with your body.

Most of my performance reviews have been bullshit, which is why I never take them seriously anymore. I’ve only received honest feedback from a couple of managers over the years, which was helpful for me because I was able to make some great improvements from it.
