I would still argue that if a person wants to try any (longterm) birthcontrol method, it might be betetr to get it sooner rather than later. You don’t know how your body is going to respond or if you are allergic to anything containing it. So trying a few methods…

I have made this point several times now, but another option is to not have PIV anymore. It’s possible to have enjoyable sex without risking pregnancy and not having to take pills or have something inserted.
