Perhaps, but it's a pretty far stretch! :)

Do you happen to know if your weaker duck managed to hatch on her own? Maybe that's the difference in these two cases? I know my mom succumbed to pity (I would have too!) and helped the chick that eventually died when it got stuck hatching even though you're really not supposed to. :(

I'm loving the gender roles discussions on here but Hardwicke's "Red Riding Hood" is mentioned in the article and I can't let it go uncommented on. This movie is PG-13 and yet it made it out with a truly disturbing subplot that is completely unremarked upon and brushed off and used merely to push forward part of the

I love that not only did they make his wish come true, they also brought his friends into the "game" as well. The little batman and robin team chasing the riddler up the ramp was just too precious! That kid is going to have great memories and if the worst happens his friends will have a wonderful memory of him.

Same here, I'm in graduate school and a 6 month practicum is required for graduation. This whole "you're getting paid in credits" thing is bull because I'm already paying for those credits. So I have to do 6 months of practicum where hopefully I'll be allowed to do my research, if not then do the research on my own

Reanimated?? You do know that 4 of the 10 Von Trapp children are still alive? Including the sickly child that Maria was orginally brought to the family to tutor since she couldn't go to school, no less.

Unfortunatly baby ducks are jerks to any hatchmates that are disabled. They will attempt to peck them to death. My mom hatches ducks with her class and a couple of years ago one of the ducklings was hatched with a deformed leg. We had to keep it seperated during swim time as it's siblings kept trying to peck it and

Because your house or your car isn't going to grow up and join the labour force. This is the problem with short sighted "finanical quarter" thinking.

I can maybe see where you're coming from in terms of employment benefits even though I don't agree with you but child tax benefits?? Do you honestly not see the social benefit to those? our societies are so business cycle focused in many ways if the government is not looking to the future we'd be screwed. Replacement

Nancy Madore does good short stories based on several types of common women's fantasies and nursury rhymes/fairytales. It's fairly feminist as well. I have three of her collections and very much enjoy them. I had a book that was hardcore BDSM called submission a few years back but I left it in my dorm library as it

That's probably from the exercise plus the training to go when they're outside. The people who run have been commenting over in the lady poo article about running making them poop more too.

So your Phd is more applicable to teaching then? Thanks for sharing - I'm currently getting my masters for professional practice in my area but I'm considering doing a PhD if my master's thesis doesn't provide the scope I want for my research interest. I also want a family in my future so it's always good to hear

That makes some sense - I worked between my undergrad and started my grad studies shortly before I turned 27 so I know my area is right for me and I'm dying to get started. I do want kids but I would prefer to keep working though I know that my area is consistantly understaffed and overworked. Good luck going back!

I don't have IBS but I have food intolerances and it's similar. I missed the entire first period of a live hockey game once. And I have some to sneaky foods like mayo and I have to constantly ask. There's no getting around talking digestion!

Let me guess, he didn't believe in food intolerances either. Or maybe he was secretly turned on by shit and was hoping you'd offer to prove him wrong??

While I will admit to watching it at least twice, I won't see it in the theatre now unless they can guarantee a red gummy bear stuck to the screen in the exact same spot as my first time watching. Nothing can beat seeing the camera pan up on Rose's face during a super intense moment and have the gummy bear be sticking

Random factoid! Babies are born with eyes that are almost adult sized - 90% of the adult size which is of course why they're so huge in the itty bitty baby face. Now I'm wondering if the area of chipmunk like baby cheeks is similar to the adult face as well.

Are you still able to keep up in your field or are you still using your doctorate now? I never considered a PhD and SAHM-hood in the same career path so if you care to share, I'm all ears. (Just in case this doesn't come off as intended, I'm legitimately curious, not snarking.)

Sorry to hear that.... maybe this comic can cheer you up for a moment? I saw it on facebook and thought of you!

I really don't like the message this is sending. Not only is he using his disabled daughter to score points, the point itself is a particularly bad one. Assuming the poor child lives to adulthood isn't the point of NRA membership to do with actual gun ownership? Are things so out of control that he's actually
