Social justice and feminism; that was the idea at any rate. Maybe I'm just paranoid to think that Cannes juries are falling for this, although they did at least once before with Michael Moore (2004). The only thing I saw of Divines was the red carpet and the (very obnoxious) winning speech.

I heard, from some not so reliable sources, that Divines got the prize for political reasons. Good to know it may have actually deserved it.
