I know I’d rather die a slow painful death rather than be married to O’Reilly for ten minutes.

You just KNOW it was more about “letting people at Mar-A-Lago see how cool and important he is” than it was about actual national security. “Ooh looky me I’m president doing president stuff!” (Meanwhile Bannon pulls out a literal camera to hold over classified docs while Toddler In Charge smug mugs for the camera).
Really? I missed the live blog. Cynicism is so deadly.
Next jackass who tells me Hillary was a traitor because she might not have been perfect about her emails gets ripped a new one.
I agree! I was sort of stunned that everyone on the live blog was offended by her starting over. She has every right to go out there and do her best, especially when that performance had nothing to do with her and everything with honoring someone she and a lot of people in that room admired.
I’d be interested to know how long in the tooth the average age of a typical Grammy voter would be and and what %age is non-white. They typically go with the safest blandest album. Adele sold a shit ton of albums; multi-platinum sales are pretty much unheard of in 2017 so maybe they voted under the thinly veiled…
Any concertgoer knows a restart is not unusual, most commonly when there are technical problems. I appreciated her caring so much about turning in her best performance, especially since it was in honor of a fellow performer.
These people are just salty that Adele destroyed (deservedly so) any chance Bey had to get an award they were both nominated in.
DListed has by far the most cynical fucking people I’ve ever seen. Don’t go to that site to read the comments because all you’ll read is baseless vitriol.
That’s terribly unfair. They knew each other, the performance was very much personal to Adele. This isn’t last year’s Gaga false tribute to a man who couldn’t even stand her.
I know, right? It’s completely confusing! I don’t think that they’re that obtuse, I think it was just that they didn’t even care enough to pretend.
I wish more performers would do the same when in trouble tbh. We’d end up with a lot fewer cringeworthy trainwrecks to debate the day after. She was just honest and wanted to do a good job.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen something quite like that happen at the Grammy’s before. She tore it up! I’m not a huge fan of Adele, but after seeing this performance, I appreciate her a lot more!
She could have tried to uncomfortably muddle through the rest of the song, but she chose to go back and start fresh even if it meant possibly being ridiculed on the internet by nobodies. I really admire that. And I think George Michael probably thought the tribute was awesome and loved the arrangement of Fastlove.
People who complain that Adele made it about her are actually the ones guilty of taking the focus off of George Michael.
Thats what I said! Sorry, but it was so slow and blah and then the start over. Thats how it felt.
there were some pretty nasty comments on the live blog about this, im glad theres been a change of tune. the jez article about patti smith having to start over for bob dylan was written as a human triumph, im glad some of that is shared for adele just trying to start over. i honestly dont think she purposefully made…
Performing is hard! Sheesh, everyone’s a critic.
Those people are totally obtuse. Or blind. It was very clear she wanted to do this song well for him.
Ugh I still have nightmares about that Germanwings flight.
