That seems to be common on a lot of dark shows. The Game of Thrones cast all seem to have a blast (apart from Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey who have longstanding issues with each other) and the Battlestar Galactica cast also had a lot of fun on set.

For such a relatively dark show, every single cast story makes it seem like they were all having way too much fun on set. Always makes me happy to hear about a crew that gelled this well.
