I have a friend who has been married, stay at home, with no kids - and who also doesn’t do jackshit in terms of housework, when compared to the average woman with a job - for over a decade now. He is happy to keep her at home while she plays videogames all day. Like you, I am like “How do I get that racket?”

That’s a bold strategy. Mine just insists he was GONNA do it, he swears. Never mind the fact that we both know he wasn’t.

HALF CHORES OMG YESSS

Those who marry for money earn every penny of it. You’d be bored out of your gourd.

Someone very wealthy, or perhaps someone whose wife is a student?

Hell, according to this we’re doomed because I’m older, have more education, and am a (terrible) Christian whereas he’s agnostic.

Same here! The husband paid off all his student loan debt in year two of our relationship (we’re into year 13 now), while I will be paying until 2032. We just recetly officially tied the knot, but he’d treated my debt as his from the get-go. I do feel better that it’s only student loan debt (and he buys more gadgets

You’re right of course, and it is okay! We manage (more than manage, we have a nice life and are happy). Honestly, I think it's the regret that gets me most—but c'est la vie.

Agreed. I know someone with lots of student debt who majored in Spanish. He is not fluent in Spanish. Sooo, what was the point of that. Naturally his job has nothing to do with the Spanish language.

Wow. Lack of financial skills would have been way more of a dealbreaker for me than the debt itself. You are a more giving person than I.

Interesting. I agree with credit card debt. But student debt to me, is not necessarily ok, depending on what you went into debt for. If you took out $200k in student loans for a degree that you knew was going to have a low income-earning capacity, then I’m not sure that it is ok. It seems kind of foolish, actually.

If your plan is to avoid marrying someone with debt, your options are gonna get RILL limited.

Yeah it depends on the type of debt. Student debts get a pass but if it’s something like a ginormous credit card debt, I’d want to know what’s going on.

I have slightly less horrible student loan debt than my boyfriend but his parents are significantly more likely to pay his off for him. Guess that balances out.

I have a moderate amount of debt (not of law school proportions, but a lot for someone in the social sciences) that I regret tremendously and don’t even use that degree in my professional life (I was laid off with everyone else in 2009 and never got another job in my field). My husband has never said a peep about my

I’d do him. I’ll shave halfway and we can meet (and do other things) in the middle, if ya know what I’m sayin’.

This. I understand her point but Amy didn’t cause sh*t. If this movie didn’t exist, he would have found another female dominated event to terrorize.

I kept waiting for this. I kept waiting to hear why a man his age would go to see Trainwreck alone if there were “no motivation” as police were saying earlier. I kept waiting to hear about the misogyny and racism because I knew it was just a matter of time. These guys never just kill a bunch of random people and

The best I can recall, Rusty had an issue with feminine rights. He was opposed to women having a say in anything.

Little things like the leopard eyepatch make me simultaneously heartbroken and charmed.
