Not every job is as simple as yours. A lot of jobs require technical expertise and training. Longevity plays in to this somewhat, but some people are naturally more gifted than others. Why would they get paid the same as someone who isn't carrying the same workload?

I’m struggling with going cheap and cheerful for my next daily with the 2020 Si or spend a bit(alot) more and going with a GT-S RF.

I’ve got an ND RF and love it. Wanted some of the tech and stuff and it’s been my daily driver so a hardtop made sense for me. Ideally I’d have an NA as well.
