How about you acknowledge that you made a mistake instead of being flippant towards commentators who are right?

The journalistic integrity of an author has been called into question, and true to Jezebel ethics and practices, she fires back with middle school sarcasm.
Frankly you should be. In ignoring the actual content of the controversy you fail to add anything of value to the conversation. You'd have been better off simply ignoring the topic all together, but now that you've waded in it's pretty sad to see you do so disingenuously.
Except that you've preemptively dismissed her critics as 'small fedoras'. What purpose did that serve except to blunt and mute the negative reaction to her?
A home run? This article completely ignores multiple other examples of Dunham's disturbing behavior with her sister. Was it done on purpose or out of the author's total ignorance of the actual details of the story?
They want to defend Lena and the only way to do so is to omit.
Why are we acting like this is only about her touching her 1 year old sister's vagina when she was 7 and not also about emotionally coercing her sister into sleeping in her bed and then masturbating while she sleeps? And about paying her sister in candy to give her long kisses on the lips? And about paying her sister…
I'm tired of this. We focus on teaching women not to be raped; now we are starting to focus on teaching everyone around a potential victim to stop her from getting raped. There is still so little that is actually geared towards the criminal themselves.
Don't give in and have kids just because your husband wants kids. Offer him a divorce so he can find someone who does want kids. You should have worked that out before you married.
I'd feel sympathy for a woman who was forced into motherhood against her will or by lack of options, but the woman saying she never wanted to be a mother then had a son anyway, had no feelings for him, and then had a daughter? I'm sorry, she's just an asshole.
That right there is my biggest beef. Thank you for expressing it better than I could.
I understand why people would feel like they couldn't talk about this. If we're being honest about feelings here, I honestly felt no sympathy for the women above. To be honest, I saved all my sympathy for their children.
I know you didn't actually mention those things. But I'm just not really seeing how it's such a terrible costume that it deserves it's own post, except for her general appearance. And yes, her facial expression is a big contributor to that appearance, but Jezebel also usually doesn't love the idea of telling women…
If all I have to do is let google look through my emails so (even one of) these pervs can get locked up, so fucking be it.
Those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing — and if it means catching the abuse of children and likely preventing future abuse of other children, then Google can go through my emails all they want. Hope they like perusing restaurant coupons and Facebook notifications.
There is no gray area here whatsoever . Gmail is a service provided by Google, thus everytime you login you have to know you are surrendering more info/privacy than you'd really like to. Likewise, Google has a ton of information available because of the nature of their business/service. It doesn't mean they are…
If Google wants to see all my receipts from grub hub go right ahead the NSA already has seen them. I'm glad this creep got caught
This does not necessarily mean that a guy who works for google is sitting down, reading through all your shit, btw. They might have a string of words that an automated program looks for, and if it sets off a flag, they'll read it.
I for one am glad he was caught and technology was put to good use. I actually don't mind that my emails may or may not be analyzed since the content of my emails is of no concern. I am well aware of its dangers and that there's a fine line... But like I said I am happy to see it have been used for good.
lol people are surprised that their emails are being monitored? okay
