i followed leticia wright for a minute after i watched her black mirror episode and then unfollowed because she’s super christian and the posts that came with that.

She shared a blanket anti-vax video, with transphobia to boot. She’s doing some biblical shit about the “luciferase” enzyme just because of the name. And when people have the gall to say “hey maybe you shouldn’t put this debunked nonsense out there with your huge platform” she cried cancel culture.

My wife’s a physician, and while she obviously mourns the massive loss of life this pandemic has caused, she’s been pretty excited to see a decade of vaccine research compressed into a year.

And really, it’s not like the workings of vaccines in general are hard to understand.  The specifics are complex but the overall idea is super simple.

She’s picking some fine company, isn’t she? The godfather of the anti-vaxx movement had his medical license stripped right there in her home country for being a dangerous quack.  That’s not an easy thing to do.

Seriously. The methods by which vaccines work have been around for, oh, a little while now. Meanwhile I’m looking forward to Wright’s evaluation of the potential risks of messenger ribonucleic acid. Sounds icky, you know?
