There’s good reason they are cheaper. They are less useful, a bit silly, and less reliable (lots of BMW club friends with them). Not that I don’t theoretically like MINIs, but I have never wanted one enough to actually buy one, whereas I did buy a ‘17 GTI Sport new.

 Exactly they are just a basic ass truck made to do actual truck stuff.  And that’s what 4 Runner and Tacoma buyers want.

It’s also incredibly reliable. They run for 2-300k miles easily with minimal maintenance, and the driveline is basically bulletproof.

To be fair people buy the 4 Runner and Tacoma because it doesn’t really change all that much.  It’s just a “simple” truck/suv that just does truck/suv things without trying to be all fancy and cushy and “car like”

There are luxury brands that sell cars that are simply “premium.” Most Lexus models certainly can’t be called luxury cars. But they were established as a luxury brand, and sell some entry-luxury models. So the label sticks. The model X and S are luxury vehicles. The 3 and Y are not.

A reasonable market price for this is around $18K. It’s condition might get it to $20K. $24K is way beyond what this can bring. There are too many available to be able to sell this at the mileage for this price. ND

Nice car, but priced way too high for the miles. My experience says the engine might have 30-40K left before the head gasket goes.
