It’s almost as if addiction doesn’t make you do or say terrible things if you're not already a terrible person. 

John Mulaney is my favorite comedian, maybe ever—the guy very peculiarly appeals to my particular sense of humor. I hope he takes however he needs to recover and be well.

As a fellow person in recovery, wishing all the best to John Mulaney. Struggling in the pandemic is hard, as it is so isolating. A good support system (which it sounds like he has) is super helpful. Being sober is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but it is totally worth it. 

Man that sucks to hear about Mulaney. I just discovered his stuff maybe a year ago and have not laughed as hard since first hearing Eddie Izzard and Patton Oswalt back in the 90's. On top of his obvious talent, he just seems like a lovely person, hope he gets the help he needs to kick all this shit.

I love “Loose horse in a hospital” bit about Trump and also whenever I see Kushner I remember Mulaney saying: “Whoa, that tall child looks terrible!” lol

I hope John Mulaney gets the help he needs comes out of this stronger. The last 10 months have been rough for everyone, and it’s good to hear that he wants to get better.

Right? He’s like the budget Eric Estrada.

Why does it not surprise me that people are suddenly scandalized by provocative or inflammatory language by a Biden staffer despite spending the past four years letting Donald Trump say literally whatever the fuck he wants without repercussions or consequences? 

“I apologize for calling these people fuckers. They’re obviously motherfuckers.”

Stand back everyone:

I’d say that situation is when it’s directed at an evil, racist, bigotted, self-serving rapist and thief, who has negatively effected (talk about an understatement!) a great number of people around the world.
And brags about it.

Hopefully the show lasts long enough for Padalecki to grow an actual beard.

It’s going to take some getting used to to see him without Jensen Ackles.

God, thanks for the reminder of why I left academia (was in History). I have so many of the same stories.

Thanks for writing this. Academia is a sewer. I still work in higher ed because of the students, but every other week I seriously consider bailing and finding a place of work whose framework wasn’t literally built to enshrine and sustain abusive behavior.

He’s also starring in the latest abomination remake of The Grinch. Do not google the photos or you’ll die in 7 days, probably.

It’s disheartening, maybe, that the internet simply moves too fast for something like a celebrity chef kerfuffle to make a meaningful impact on the public perception of a celebrity.
