Tolkien and Lewis were very good friends and Treebeard is inspired by Lewis. Luthian, the elvish/maia princess is partially inspired by Edith.

You’d be wrong about Cap being a homophobe. He’s been supportive of the LGBT community since at least the 80's when his childhood friend came out to him.

Plus, media everywhere can get political, may they be news, your favorite netflix show, movie; but that doesn’t mean you get a free pass to be a sheltered, hateful jackass who violently expresses their fear of things that are different.

This might have been the funniest episode of the season and that’s saying something. I kept having to rewind because of constant outbursts of laughter that had me missing the next minute of a scene.

Also, Detective Pikachu himself stands out less than Sonic because he lives in a world with other Pokémon. I think just a couple more Sonic characters could make Sonic feel a little less out of place, even if all the designs were this level.

I can’t help but think that had either Detective Pikachu come out far earlier or the Sonic movie started production much later, the Sonic team might have scrapped this movie after seeing the Detective Pikachu trailer.

The show and movie are VERY close in look and feel. The show’s beginning to bring out it’s own flavors, certain lines they’re willing to cross (is this the most f-bombs in any FX regular show?), less of the gore that popped up in the movie. I can’t overstate how much I absolutely adore Colin Robinson - but I can’t…

I’d rather company try to capitalize on trend rather than pointlessly attempt to shut down anything that might “damage the brand” so kudos on them for that.
