Ones I’m cautiously optimistic about:

Orion: As a person with anxiety, this speaks to me. And Natasia Demitriou (Nadja from What We Do In The Shadows) is in it!

My parents (one of whom is in their 60's and the other of whom is in their 70's) also refuse to watch a lot of newer TV shows due to their inclusion of non-white and/or openly gay characters, which they constantly complain to me is “unnecessary” and “why do gay people always have to bring up that they’re gay?”

I don’t

That’s also why I’m not surprised that a lot of these lists don’t have HADES 2 on them— we’ve heard nothing since the announcement trailer, and even if we do get Early Access in 2024, we probably won’t get 1.0 until 2025.

Now playing

Bonus: If you emulate the game, you can corrupt it:

Was Slayers X ever on the list? Surprised to not see it here.

There was a brief period Mattel were actually billing Barbie as an “educational toy”, under the mindset that “any toy that can be roleplayed with is therefore educational”. Which, with that reasoning, felt like a cop-out-- I was a creative kid, essentially every toy I had was a vehicle for roleplay.

I don’t know how best to explain it, but here’s how I feel about Dave:

Dave Chappelle is black and (as far as I know) cis-hetero, while I’m white and queer. He has experience with racial prejudice, which I don’t, so I try to listen to people who have firsthand experience with being seen as “other” for their skin tone. B

Vinny Vinesauce has been streaming the game in open access, and the soundtrack is fantastic. I wonder if there’s a YouTube upload or something of it to put on for chill/sleep music.

1. Simultaneously anticipating & also dreading playing more BG3. I’ve never played anything like this before. Do I just make the decisions I would go with in my heart, or do I play to a specific companion’s personality on purpose? Is being a Dudley Do-Right who helps everyone and refuses to harm animals or children com

My favorite surprise was a personal one, I think— killing the part of myself that cares way too much about what other people (including family members) think about my pop culture tastes, and finding that a lot of stuff I was too self-conscious to try 10, 15 years ago is actually really fun and enjoyable.

If you had

I’d like to see Guillermo and Nandor finally become a couple after dancing around it literally the entire show. Or at least admit their feelings for each other. It feels like the writers have been toying with the idea since literally season 1, but got cold feet and hit the reset button every time.

I played HADES in Version 1.0, but had previously watched someone else play it in various stages of Steam Early Access. It was kind of fun to see how things changed (i.e. getting to “know” a character who only had a placeholder design and then seeing their official design once it was released). I might do the same

I’d love to go to PAX or PAX East for the focus on indie games one day, if I could ever afford it.

Reasons why I think conventions as a whole are becoming less popular:

Someone who knows Remedy games much better than I do speculated that David Harewood played the character because he was supposed to be a copyright-free version of Lance Reddick’s character from Quantum Break, who Remedy don’t legally have the rights to anymore. I’m so curious to see him interact with Saga, for

I am in no way an expert on these things, but this is how I would do it if I had any control:

- Make a “Spring E3" and a “Fall E3" or whatever
- Divide sizzle reels into console shows (so people who don’t play XBOX can skip the XBOX show, or something)
- Mandate that a certain amount of gameplay needs to be shown/a game

I am a lifelong Leftist. I am also Jewish.

I have been hesitant to say anything about this topic because I have seen some people who are pro-Palestine throw Jews as an entire group under the bus, including those of us who have never set foot in the Middle East and are equally critical of Israel’s government (including

Wasn’t Peyj in the Blood Dragon anime? I’d be surprised if they let him have a cameo in it and hadn’t subsequently announced anything BG&E-related.

I used to include anything “weird/quirky/artsy” as an honorary indie piece of media regardless of the finances of who made it. But I realized that that’s not only subjective, it should be the standard. Companies should have enough faith in the people they employ to take a risk on making something “weird” even if they

Maybe it’s easier to stomach if you play their games in reverse order, or something— knowing someone wrote something dark and cynical to later mentally revisit it and revise their message later on to something more positive.
