Haha yes, I try to smile and wave at the honking, yelling jerks as if I know them and they’re saying hello to me. Makes them even angrier and embarrassed.
Yes, to everything you said. Especially pointing where you’re going - ie right arm/hand pointing to the right for a right turn. Bugs me whenever I see a bicyclist doing the left arm up in a 90 degree angle to indicate a right turn. Looks like they’re flipping someone off. Guess they don’t know that signal is for left…
But riding as far to the side of the road as you can go is extremely dangerous for you. Please take the lane for your safety, who cares about the drivers, they’ll get used to you and you’ll get used to being away from the curb eventually. Not even a mile commute should be less than a 10 minute ride.
I’d like all the sensors and actuators sitting in the drivers seat look like a person.

Would've rather had my knee go out.
Thanks for this hack. Definitely faster.
I have Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, it's not getting any better, and I ride my bike everyday, everywhere. If I can ride a bike, you can too. The leaning-to-the-right had everything to do with your boyfriend's bike being way too big and nothing to do with you doing anything wrong.
ooooh, is that Natalie Portman?
I've taught at least a half dozen of my adult friends how to ride a bike. Easiest way to learn is by first getting the feel of balancing on the bike (see the popular teeny tiny toddler "balance bikes" at Target, etc that don't have pedals or brakes).
