Another exception here, then. ‘02 Jetta 1.8T. Had a coil pack fail. Traded it in without any other problems at 98k on an ‘09 TDi. Other than the whole cheating emissions thing, the ‘09 is at 103k. If VW would buy back the TDi, I might go for a Golf R.

Hey now. Not all MKIV’s are bad! 130k miles on mine and only major “issues” were maintenance (clutch and timing belt service) related.

There have been a fuckton of small FWD utes all over the world. It’s surprisingly common, which is neat in itself. I can appreciate a certain modesty that such a truck provides especially with how trucks are in the US nowadays.
