I’m a dog owner, have been all my life. I would without hesitation choose a friends life over my “mans best friend” (my dog). Its a terrible thing the dog died, but perspective gives good solace.

I agree. He was a great tool, and I’m sure a wonderful companion to many, but nevertheless a tool for a specific job. I know how tough it is to lose a dog, but I’m thankful a human officer’s life was saved (probably many times) due to this sacrifice.

As a cyclist, I agree. Intentionally biking somewhere where rapid occurring blind corners exist and people drive 40-50 consistently, that is just asking to get hit.
