Totally agree. People who direct projects like this don’t seem to understand that “feel” trumps “looks” any day. The out-dated anime series was far superior due to the dark tone of the sound track as well as the time spent with building up our relationships with the characters.

Deciding to turn this manga into movies instead of a multi season anime was a huge freaking mistake. The movies lacked any sort of character building and felt dead when compared to the manga and 1st anime season.
