Good cops who cover for bad cops aren’t good cops.

It is once you put on the uniform. If they want to go as private citizens and wear the yellow or orange security T shirt, and then bail, that’s one thing (still really bad, because you are abandoning a post you volunteered for), but when you wear a police uniform you project an image to the people in the arena. But their moonlighting job was similar in function to their “real” job. Meaning that their actions in their second job- that is, quitting- is representative of expected actions in their real job. Which happens to be “serving and protecting” the community.

That’s cool. I hope the next time you go to a restaurant, you don’t upset the server who spits in your drink. Because by your logic, someone who is bad at their fucking job deserves to be treated with respect in all situations.

If someone isn’t emotionally secure enough to handle a protest statement by a WNBA team in front of about 7,000 people without throwing a tantrum, that person probably shouldn’t also be a police officer.
