Eat my butt. Oh, hell. Eat all our butts.

Did anyone in universe, you know, ask Ms. Marvel before hand if she was cool with being cloned and turned into a mutant?

I think Wilder got the character better than anyone, both behind and in front of the camera. It was lightning in a bottle with that dude and I just don’t see the point in trying to catch that again. Oh, money. That’s the point.

Ohhhh yeah. I’m amazed the movie turned out as near perfect as it did. That thing was just full of all sorts of  issues through to the very end. Sometimes adversity truly creates art.

There’s also the subtle joke about the Nazi hiding out in South America that still makes me chuckle.

Plus, that knife salesmen. It’s like he walked in off the set of a horror movie for that one scene. There’s some good shit in that first half, except for Charlie’s mom’s song, of course.

It’s giving off peak “superhero origin movie” vibes, but for Willy Wonka.

And that’s where you’re on the money. I see guys tooling around with AI in NES game design groups that I’m in, and while it’s a mess at times, it’s something that kind of does the brute force that they need. They just have to go back and fix things.

I wouldn’t bother with Magus. He’s a Musk ride or die tech bro. I would just dismiss and ignore at this point.

Speaking of Big Booba ladies, the hentai/adult art community seems to be VERY much against AI generated porn, which warms the cockles of my heart to see happen. It looks like it’s just the occasional lone weirdo that’s interested in producing and posting the crap.

I remember watching that for the first time and it really does just perfectly sum up the inherent problem with “AI” “art.” That lack of humanity. There’s nothing there but emptiness and you can feel it looking at it. It doesn’t matter how improved the image or video or story is over the last one, you can tell there’s

Oh yeah. They are absolutely testing the waters for future projects using AI. Even if this is almost universally panned, I could see them still upping the ante and doing something like have an AI voice actor for a show or movie. “Hey kids, we have Jacques Cousteau voicing a goofy space octopus thing in the new

It’s an interesting thread to read.

I do think there’s a healthy dose of jealously, which is funny because tech bros will simultaneously point out how artists are stupid useless crybabies but they very clearly hate the fact they don’t have the skill, talent, or drive to actually create art on their own. THIS is the thing that will level the playing

Magus, I’m not engaging you. It’s a rough state of affairs to see so many tech bros on here sticking up for unethical decisions made by mega corps because they’re using a new toy masquerading as “AI” that doesn’t even do what it claims to do.

Which you have no defense for.

I’m just gonna add that it sucks to see so many people on here both defending and advocating the use of what is basically a techbro scam. Lost a lot of respect for io9 today and reminded why I spend so much time away from it now.

I think Zitron is on to something there. It’s like trying to get blood from a stone, but there’s not even a stone left to squeeze. Jesus, I even forgot about the “metaverse.” Just scam after scam to try and drum up something, anything, that can snag some sweet sweet venture coin.

I think that’s part of why seeing stuff like this get trotted out makes me so angry. It’s devoid of any humanity and doesn’t actually put up with the slightest bit of scrutiny, but it of course has its defenders. People who only care about that surface level sheen that doesn’t even look good or read well.

They are (at least the director is so far) and more than a few people (even on here) are already lapping it up and parroting the excuse. This all sucks to see happen.
