I’m confused: same time frame in terms of what? The pubic discovery of his crimes, when they happened, or both?

Mexico will pay! sounds vengeful, like something Inigo Montoya would say.

I like them both but frankly I wish the next president was a conservative only because we had Obama for eight years and we need balance.

How is he exceptional? We learned he’s a child molester two years ago. Even if he was exceptional, he doesn’t have nearly the star power needed to not get blacklisted from Hollywood, much less avoid a conviction.

I think this could be partly due to information sharing. There was only cable news and CNN and newspapers in the time of Woody Allen’s molestation allegations, and I don’t think there was even a CNN when Polanski fled the U.S. to France. Now we have the internet - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Mutual outrage is

Trump should name his pee-pee Trump Steak.

I was explained to the concept of colorism last night, and I’ve since rescinded my prior opinion. There were no soap boxes, crosses, nor violins involved though; one person was rude, and so I stick by those comments.

I was corrected on this last night. Thank you.

Hi, Kyo

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that O.J. did it.

Thanks!

You’re the third person within 30 minutes to explain it this way to me. Thank you.

Thank you. VeryVicky explained to me just what you did. So, it’s called “colorism”? I don’t mean to be brief; I’ve been thinking about this more. Where can I learn more about colorism?

I didn’t think of it this way. Thanks for taking the time for this thoughtful reply. It’s still a strange idea to me, but I have a firmer grasp on what’s being talked about. Where can I learn more?

We don’t know each other, but you’ve been rude and condescending throughout this discussion. I’m not sure why I keep replying... no, we don’t share nearly the same experiences And yes, I’m still confused by this. But that’s not to say I haven’t been listening to others. There’s nothing more I can say. If you wanna

Feel better?

I was recently corrected on Saldana’s heritage.

People have responded to my post, and I’ve had civil conversations with them. I’m sorry it reads as condescending, and it wasn’t my intention.

I acknowledge that complexion (per word from black people) is instrumental to racism from other black people as well as from white people. But ultimately, we’re still talking about a black person playing a black person. It makes more sense to me to hold further reservation until Nina is out so we can see for ourselves.

Fair enough. As a white guy, I think it ties in to my acknowledgement of white privilege: whites have systematic power, and so “whiteness” matters little to us in terms of skin tone or even appearance since white actors are, well, white. And I thought Harrelson was great as Flynt.
