Same thing happened to me - I was diagnosed 3 months after starting a new job and ultimately was “laid off”for the next year (as a teacher). Then you definitely need to contact a state agency. No one should suffer through bad management because HR is piss-poor. Tell your HR person via email and send her response on to the state.

I’m really sorry for your current situation. I hope you get better soon. It should go without a saying but keep track of all works correspondaces. They may be trying to get rid of you and you should have legal protections.

Holy shit, I’m so sorry to hear all the crap you are going through.

I just tucked myself in (and I’m feeling lazy as heck) but after this cautionary tale and reading the side effects of my meds again I’m drinking enough water to wake up every hour. For eternity. Don’t care.

At the moment, not too bad, but my medication’s getting changed up in the next few weeks, so we’ll see how that goes.......

Melbourne is on and off sunny and very cold! My northern hemisphere-based family always makes fun of me when I complain about the “cold” but buildings are not properly insulated here so the cold gets in much easier than in places where double-glazing and thick insulation is standard.
