you're right, they dont all do that. i wonder how effective it would be though to see a full webpage on a live tile. I agree the ESPN app should flash headlnes. its up to developers though to take advantage of those features, you cant really fault MSFT for that. i think they could do something with the IE tile, but

Twitter is supposed to be about *removing* the filter between people. I can see exactly what [insert_famous_person_here] thinks about a situation. its not getting filtered or spun by their manager, their record label, or the magazine they're interviewed in. And i can communicate back to that person directly. why

The phone has Netflix and Spotify on it. but the best kept secret is Zune. its a phenominal music player and its unlimited streaming for $10. if you got in early it was $15/month + 10 free downloads each month. They also have pretty slick integration with Xbox live. And *very tight* integration with Facebook and

Try using it some. those "plain" live tiles are great. they're easy to glance and get information from and they update with information on them so you can, say, check the weather without having to launch the app. Its not lacking any features that other OS'es have.

I find a lot of times the people at the stores dont really know whats going on.

uhh... sure they have huge name recognition, but so does Apple and Google, i think theres pretty much parity there. Mircosoft is now considered the underdog by most in the tech industry... with the exception or RIM i guess (HAHAHAHAHAHA... RIM! LOL)

Perhaps they meant Finns?

Well the Lumia 900 has LTE, and an 8MP camera as well, and a better display. and while its certainly arguable, i feel WP7 is a better OS.

Marketing 102: When you dont have the largest market share, incentivising people removes obstacles from peoples path to adoption. Sometimes companies who make a great product need more tahn just a great product to get people to drop their prejudices.

as the tweet says "if you have AT&T service, a $100 credit will be posted to your bill" seems pretty clear cut to me.

Microsoft has one of the notoriously worst marketing teams in the history of tech.

Thats why they use live tiles. the amount of valuable information contained in the tiles, and its not something that Apple considers. i love my iPad and i think iOS is great for that application, but one example that stacks in the WP7's favor is the weather channel app. i never have to launch it. it always shows me

if thats the case i sincerely hope you get to spend some time with the Metro UI. it is (as stated in the post above this thread) in my experience, incredibly clean, simple, focused and intuitive.

Regardless of what you think it looks like, its incredibly usable, simple, clean, fast and intuitive. you really cant ask for much more out of a UI than that. I had to go back to my iPhone for a bit when i broke my WP7 phone. I was amazed at how cramped and cluttered it felt. Gestures helped but it was still a lot of

instant heart click. understanding one another, not just what they're saying but *why* they're saying it, saves so much heartache. Remember great relationships are about knowing thyself and your mate. and knowing... is half the battle

i loled.

that blows.

yeah i'm in the same boat. i had 3 accounts at one point. But i got bored with the stalemate and everyone being so heavily invested they were afraid of losing their ships. so we spin in stations instead... i jsut cant justify paying for that. i hear the new expansion is good and that Dust514 is dropping soon. i have a

Now all we need is someone to make a Hurricane. T1 BC > T2 Cruiser (typically). and i dont mean that Jeep concept...

Thanks for clarifying. i never heard of the M12, only the W8 (which as i recall was a 3 speed, can you imagine!). i was saddened, but now i'm ok with this.
