Well since you've "literally beta tested hundreds of games in my life" you're probably cognizant of the fact that a new engine means there are new bugs to work out, not like they can jsut reskin and make new models and call it 'done'.

the dumb thing is that releasing (even a beta) earlier on a PC will have Console gamers crying foul (same would be true if console players got first dibs) and people would cancel pre-orders because they'd feel that their system wasnt getting its due.

you under estimate a typical business user. Many of my clients that would fall into Acers target market here, have mailboxes that are over 12-15 GB, and have a lot of documents, speadsheets, powerpoints etc. i'd say their data storage totall weighs in around 20-50GB depending on the user.

When someone is trying to leverage another mans death to make a dollar, you can bet people will be nitpicky and unforgiving.
