idk if you saw the video or played the alpha, but i can tell you first hand i did not observe any problems with aliasing whatsoever. They use almost entirely a diffuse lighting/dynamic realtime radiosity lighting model. That may have an impact on how sharp the models and textures look and therefore impact the jaggies.

i love how everyone automatically assumes that theres something EA is doing wrong. different than everyone else? maybe. that doesnt mean they're doing it wrong. from what we see so far, they're doing everything very, very right.

8x MSAA

sorry bro, i played the Alpha, it looked every bit as good as this. Also, DICE (to my knowledge) doesnt release pre-rendered touched up screens. they just dont.

Steam = DRM

well IRL it would definitely incapacitate you. but in later versions a limb shot was good for 75-85 damage.

you know how people jizz themselves whenever someone mentions golden eye? Well this is the PC version of that. it hit that perfect nexus of realism and combat and gaming and balance in a way that had not been done before. you know all those "realistic shooters" like BF1942, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and all that?

one vet to another, i used to be the same way, but tbh change is good. Who's to say that the mechanics were better in one version than another. Personally i preferred beta 6.1 over all the other versions. I was saddened to see maps like as_oilrig and cs_747 go away, but removing scopes from the M4 was a smart move. I

Every game needs an AWP. I'll agree there were some balance issues with it, but the truth is a high powered sniper rifle *should* be able to kill you instantly. It would have been smarter if you couldnt use the scope while moving, if there were scope sway and if the size of the gun had a more realistic impact on user

not so sound like a fanboy, but i'm stunned taht you've never played CS. CS was a major part of the e-sports scene in the late 90's early 00's. It was a pretty big deal.

not in CS 1.x. at least i knew earlier versions (not sure about 1.6) you had yo buy individual clips, this added an extra layer of strategy: "do i need all that ammo, or can i save money? should i buy enough ammo or just jet the better gun?"

Would have been better if it were Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Gigantic Online Gaming Operations!!! (with 3 '!''s) because CS:GOGOGO!!! has a much better ring to it.

some chick on the internet. idk really. i just wish she had a little... sunnier disposition.

Hot planet with a black soul, one side never gets sun you say? didnt know planets could be goth

the real question is: can it run notepad?

as mentioned above, OTA streaming does give you the broadcast games. and for oother games that are blacked out or whatever, i'll go to a sports bar. Theres usually great atmosphere for a big game where the locals are really engaged.

so you're subsidizing their cable access then? you sure they're your friends and not trying to get some free TV?
