To get a hand gun in California legally, you need to pass a background check, got to a registered fire arms dealer, select a California approved weapon (“assault weapons”, >10 round magazines and most handguns are forbidden). You then wait 10 days, get your gun and register anything semi auto with the state of

Depending on who we’re talking about, there is a risk that they take their company with them. For example, Elon moving new Tesla manufacturing out of Fremont to Reno and Austin.

The problem with state level progressive income taxes, is the incentive it creates for rich people to just move to another state. With remote work, this will only accelerate.

Came here to say this. I’d take 100k California miles on a 10 year old car over 50k Vermont miles on a 5 year old car any day.

Can I click this at work?

If this is the intro to your memoirs, I’m on board.

As delivery drones, police robots and self driving cars go from science fiction to common place we are going to see a whole lot of vandalism toward them. As that vandalism escalates, it doesn’t seem out of the question that some will be equipped with vandalism counter measures.

If Nissan wants to re-assert itself in the US market, it needs to bring back the Gloria. To honor its heritage, it needs to be a three row wagon based on the current GT-R, and it will of course need a roll down cargo window.

What you didn’t mention is that the Patrol already costs about $100k USD in other trims in MENA. This isn’t a high priced limited edition, it’s just an appearance / “tuning” package with a 10% mark up from the “Platinum Reserve” trim that already exists.

100% agree. If there’s a video on how to fix a dishwasher or beat a level that’s been ratio’d on dislikes, it’s probably bad news or a waste of time.

I forgot about this thing! It was truly the VehiCross competitor we deserved.

I know the Commando shown here is just a fancy restomod, but I think it’s worth taking semi seriously. The car most commonly cross shopped with a Wrangler is a Mustang convertible. With that in mind, the re-introduction of the Commando / Jeepster as a lower, more livable Mustang competitor with AWD doesn’t seem

This is fantastic.

Two years ago, I started dating someone who loves the Kardashians and sees them as aspirational role models. Their stories inspired her to make objectively better life choices.

Thanks for weighing in with a qualified opinion.

With our powers combined, we are two nerds with opinions on the internet.

I have a CS degree and my work is adjacent to this problem. Volvo, Toyota, BMW, Waymo and Bosch have all built their self driving approach around cameras and LIDAR. Tesla’s stated reason for not using LIDAR is cost.

Autopilot is slick, but I don’t think it will be able to move beyond level 2 until it incorporates LiDAR. For now, it is good enough to make people complacent, but not as good as an attentive driver.

You make a good point. I bet people like you who are Tesla “conquest buyers” coming from Lexus and Toyota are the reason they are finally budging on building an EV. Glad you’re having a good experience with your Y.

I see your point, and I like Tesla, but I disagree. Teslas are an aspirational icon for trendy, urban consumers. They are not just buying a car, they are buying a story.
