I don’t hate it, but they pulled off the decision trick of making it look more CUV like by extending the hood, which sucks. For the sake of parking, navigating driveways and merging in bumper-to-bumper traffic, I wish hoods were built around engine profile, not “design language”.

I’ve spent most of my career working for brands that most of you have in your home. What I’ve picked up along this journey is that a brand needs a consistent voice. It must evolve over time, but undercutting brand heritage is a sign of desperation.

I tend to agree with you. If it was playing against the F-Pace, Cayanne, Lavante and Range Rover I could see it as a cool alternative option for people that want to stand out in the Costco parking lot. At over $200K, it is competing for the rare air occupied by the Urus, Bentayaga and G63. 

I’m really excited about more competition in the market, and I hope this is the beginning of real EV growth that isn’t centered around Tesla. It’s nice that Teslas were a hit in San Francisco and Shenzhen, but it will be transformative when they are common in places like Omaha and Milwaukee.

In 30 years, most boomers will be dead and Gen X will be in their 80s. Their grand children will be taking these things to donate at the Good Will.
