This is brilliant!

Spumoni? Totally gimicky “Italian” ice cream with 3 flavors (I think cherry, pistachio, and vanilla or maybe chocolate) that I remember from when I was little. Either that or Neopolitan (sp?), which is an even lower rent version (strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate).

Some Southern food is really good. Just like any other kind of food, you have to try it and see what you like. Southern food worth trying and seeing if you like it: fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, grits (not everyone like these, but I do), fried flounder, hush puppies, Carolina barbecue (pulled pork - I like

I liked the Wasabi Ginger ones also. But salt and vinegar still rule.

Best comment ever. I was nodding along until I got to the Reuben comment and then I busted out laughing. I love Reubens, but in chip form, I agree it would have to be Distilled Human Suffering.

No, that’s not what it is.

They do tea, it’s just extremely syrupy sweet iced tea served with chicken fried steak. ;)

But the best chicken fried steak isn’t using a good cut of steak. It’s something like a cube steak or something else you pound to oblivion before breading and frying. It is so good that I liked it when I was a little kid who hated all other versions of beef.

Yes to all of this except the chicken fried steak. Well-made chicken fried steak is divine. Poorly made chicken fried steak is like eating mushy despair covered in gravy.

I found all but the truffle ones at a local Walgreens. My girls are going to taste test them with friends on their cute little videos they make. They are holding out for that truffle catastrophe because they want to make a whole taste-test video. However, the chips were 2 for 1 or 1 for a bunch more, so I ended up

This subject gets under my skin and I tend to “speak” before I think. I am so glad I don’t practice criminal law or family law or I’d be a volcano waiting to blow.

It’s too late for me to edit mine or I can’t figure out how to, but I want to redact the cop apologist part.

Also, I was responding more broadly to your question about the butterfly effect. I was pointing out one instance where someone CAN be held responsible for unintended consequences, not implying the cop was actually committing a felony. Although, I daresay that a civilian doing the same thing to another civilian

I agree. I read you wrong. I apologize for that. I don’t think you’re a cop apologist.

Also, I don’t think the police officer will actually be found guilty of a crime for excessive force. I also don’t know if he should be, as I don’t have all the details, but the legal protections for officers of the law, which are often very necessary, often tend to protect bad cops along with the good ones.

Legally, no, he’s probably not. Morally, I hope this haunts him. Realistically, I think this will make him worse in his interactions with civilians, especially minorities.

I was just pointing out to Fuzzy that Butterfly Effect can happen to people in certain situations.

I guess my concern is more excessive force than false arrest.

I agree with your legal analysis regarding the stop and ordering her out of the car. However, was slamming her head into the ground excessive force that resulted in her death? That is my concern here. If that caused a concussion and hematoma that resulted in death, then why shouldn’t the officer/government be held

Also, it would not surprise me to see the someone charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle in the state where I practice.
