Making contact with the ball is not the same thing as recording a base hit. A base hit is when a batter hits the ball into fair territory and reaches first base safely without the benefit of an error or fielder's choice. Hitting the ball to a fielder for an out, as in the play above, is not a hit.

M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A!!!

A 3.6 GPA while majoring in three fluffy joke majors at a joke college that's for kids with more money than brains? Yeah. That's not an impressive resume at all.

"his news shouldn't serve to take down Kazantsev; if anything, it might even be an opportunity for her. Good people sometimes do bad things, and discussing how they happened, how they developed, and how to keep other good people from doing the same bad things could make some kind of dent in a collegiate culture of

What I expected this article to be about was not I what read. The straightforward and logical way to see Hope Solo against the NFL is "Men commit domestic abuse frequently, but sometimes women do it too. Gender should not play a role in how sports leagues and the justice system deal with it- you assault, you are

Yeah because the media should be forced to cover things which make no money and no one is interested in.

"This is, in fact, how sexist and racist ideologies work"

Oh, we already know how it works at Gawker, where it's totally cool to leave an unwanted male celebrity sex tape up on your site (Hulk Hogan) while decrying female nude picture leaks as the worst thing that's happened to humanity this century.

This needs so many more stars. Yes, it's unfortunate that a terrible law happened to ban terrible activities and legitimate activities together. The solution is not to keep the terrible law, it's to write new, better, more specific ones.

Thankfully, we don't let people who use words like "creeper" write laws.

The writer of this article is either as dumb as a bag of rocks, or should be ashamed of herself. This entire article is premised on a basic(willful?) misunderstanding of what the issue here was and what the intent was. Disgraceful. But I guess it's ok if you're on the right side right?

Nice article demonstrating that you don't understand the Constitution.

Yes, taking an upskirt photo of someone without their permission should be illegal as fuck. But don't be so disingenuous. You know that's not what the law said. It basically made a picture legal or illegal based on the "intent" of the photographer. So the same picture of a person dressed as a clown could be legal or

Yeah or maybe the law was written poorly and broadly and the judges were just doing their jobs.

I said the same thing above. Jezebel desperately needs someone who can write coherently about legal issues. Its getting downright embarrassing at this point.

The problem is not with the Judges, but the way the law was written. The quoted section from the law in this article would make it a criminal offense for you to take any picture that was subsequently used as masturbation material by a third-party. That's ridiculous.

I still don't understand why using a 'constitutional right' to take pictures against someone's will is okay.

Some sort of intention needs to be there, though - because it can't be criminal to take a photo of a tree and have someone bending down nearby and accidentally catching their exposed breasts. Or someone in the background having a too-large arm gap in their shirt. Taking the photo for sexual gratification IS an

I know that details and reasoning really have no place here, but this law made it illegal to photograph anyone anywhere without their permission. It wasn't restricted to "upskirt" shots, and that was the problem. As the ACLU points out, and I hope at least some of you see why, this law was pretty obviously dangerous

Good call on putting the actual reason the law was thrown out at the very bottom of your article, below several paragraphs of hyperbole.

My kids don't eat the sandwich they get for lunch, they get it for dinner that night. If they don't eat it at dinner, they get it back in their lunchboxes the next fucking day. We fucking don't throw away food at our house. Fuck that.
