Here’s the one thing AP History class tends to reveal that most African Americans don’t like: White men got the idea for slavery from Africa. And, in fact, the first slave dealers in what was modern slavery were Africans selling their own race to white traders.

I’m fine with her calling out slavery for what it was, that doesn’t bother me.

And pinning slave ownership in the United States on white people is... reasonable? Isn’t it? Are we really pretending that one’s not ours? C’mon.

Except about the whole “Europeans are the only people to enslave” thing. Like, she was really wrong about that.

Oh look another example of Anna Merlan being a hypocritical piece of shit.

That doesn’t make it right.

Some of her tweets seem pretty fair, and calling for someone’s resignation is clearly a bridge too far. But if I were a white male, I would absolutely feel uncomfortable if my professor sent out a tweet saying “why is white america so reluctant to identify white college males as a problem population.”

But slavery and misogyny aren’t really white or male things. They’re universal. They’re just kind of thought patterns that exist throughout time and repeat themselves. Haven’t you read Dawkins? Don’t you know what a meme is? It’s not like white people or men directly benefit from slavery or sexism. Really, they have

say what you will about white tears, but if you can tell me why this rhetoric is even remotely helpful or insightful, i’d love to hear it

Not to get your hopes up. But there is still a chance that through a trade, the Browns can acquire Sam Bradford.

Get out of clubhouse you rapist!
Take some pithy gifs, pig!

Huh? She was murdered by her roommate. You honestly don’t think it’s likely that whatever the motive was it was something personal and not political?

I am blessed to know many service members who are wonderful, but every time someone comes in and yells at me because my store doesn’t offer a military discount (“MY HUSBAND PUTS HIS LIFE ON THE LINE FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND YOU CAN’T GIVE ME 10% OFF MY DRESS?”) I understand, with deep, deep clarity, why they are hated

Seriously. Drew went to college in like 1991, things are different now. You can’t just major in whatever you think is fun and get a good job afterwards. His advice is literally the worst.

I don't think he did it based on all the research I did, and I am big fucking liberal feminist.

This is a Gawker Media site, you are not allowed to say this.

He was wrongly convicted.

For $250,000, I would agree to never speak to a single member of my family ever again for the rest of my life.

RE #3:

Tyson is a bad dude that did bad things, but anyone that has looked closely at the case knows that he was wrongly convicted of rape after false testimony was given.
