See to me, it kind of does matter that it’s another person. But it doesn’t matter as much as it does that the person carrying it is a person, an adult, exactly as you say.

Agreed completely, with the caveat that there are multiple immediate steps between lump of clay and pot. Is it a pot as soon as you finished turning the wheel? Only after its been fired in a kiln? What defines “pot-hood?” When can a pot be trusted to hold contents for itself? (stretching the analogy to its limits)
