No one wants to say it, but Tesla owns the premium sedan market right now and took a ton of these sales. They moved more Model S than MB did e-class.

The claim of being world’s first on a university campus is 100% false... Sorry Peng... There are several other universities already doing this in US and Europe. UM’s may very well be the most advanced though.
The battery is designed to turn “off” when there’s a crash, so the only high voltage electricity is inside the pack (not in the external cables). Obviously in a crash like this that is futile. However, gas powered cars are nearly 100x more likely to catch fire in a crash... Gasoline is just inherently reactive stuff.
