Willing to bet the first page of each report has a one or two paragraph “executive summary” and that’s as far as Tavares gets with most of them.

A few weeks ago the TFL guys were whining they got shut out of some Ford press events because they posted leaked photos on their Youtube channel. They must have kissed and made up because Ford let them have a Mustang Mach-E for a week recently. Apparently it isn’t just suppliers whose hands are getting slapped.

Teslas have built-in dopamine generators. I thought you knew that.

These are surprisingly fun to drive but are no match for a Fiesta ST and are even less comfortable. Carvana has no-haggle pricing so it’s $11,990 firm and that’s too much. Heck, KBB says trade-in value is less than $6,000 so you’re going to take a beating when you get tired of it — which won’t take long. ND.

So glad there was no internet when I was a teenager.

“Tesla doesn’t do model years . . .”

This looks much like one a local guy I know bought a few years back. He paid a little more — around $4500 IIRC — and the interior was a bit healthier though still rather grungy. He polished it all up as best he could, gave it a fresh oil change and sorted out other fluids as needed and has been enjoying it ever since.

I’ve found the phrase “no rust” is wide open to interpretation. One older car I looked at once was advertised as “no rust” but sported plenty of surface rust. When I pointed this out to the seller his response was “well, ya, but none of it is rusted through.” Riiiiiiiight.

All trucks of this vintage did have dogs but they were never OEM, always aftermarket.

“Italian tune up” to “burn out the carbon”, keeping the engine revs high enough for a long enough stretch to theoretically burn off carbon deposits on the valves.

“Four ways” short for “four way flashers” referring to emergency flashers, not a small swingers party. So called because all four turn signal bulbs were flashing simultaneously.

How apropos—I just got back from such a drive. It wasn’t all that long, an hour or so, and I hadn’t intended it to be completely aimless but as things turned out it was and that’s fine. There is a restored grist mill here in southern Wisconsin, roughly twenty minutes from home. My aim was to go there to take some

My parents owned a 1962 Rambler Classic wagon with a 3-on-the-tree manual as a second car. My dad worked second shift when I was in high school and was already at work when I would get home from school so my mom taught me how to drive on the Rambler. Both my mom and the car were pretty forgiving of a novice driver so

Fiesta STs (and Focus STs) only came with 6-speed manuals, not the troublesome PowerShift automatic. Manual transmission Fiestas (and Focuses) are fine. Also, all Fusions have Ford’s 6-speed auto, not the PowerShift.

None of the above. Look for one of these instead.

And vaguely like a Studebaker Hawk.

“Your tonnage may vary.”

None of the data was adjusted for inflation. Bogus.

GM to Cadillac dealers: “Okay, one last time – you sure you want to take the buy out and not sell our electric Cadillacs? We’re asking because the Acura dealer across the street will be selling them.”

According to KBB my 2016 Miata has gone up $2000+ since I last checked a little over a year ago. I’m not planning to sell it but it kind of felt good to see that.
