Tesla also offers a system called “Full Self Driving Capability”, a phrase that sounds pretty unambiguous until you read the fine print (which too many people don’t).

Right now Tesla’s profits aren’t generated from selling cars so much as from selling emissions credits to other manufacturers. A significant threat to the company’s long-term profitability will be the devaluation of those credits as other manufacturers introduce their own lines of EVs and don’t need the credits

If you can only afford $5900 for a car you shouldn’t be looking at used BMWs.

I’m OCD when it comes to automotive glass so, yeah, I’m a heavy wiper used. Both my cars have automatic wipers and they’re always set to automatic. Even then I sometimes have to coax them to make that first swipe.

My parents had a ‘62 Rambler as a second car when I was a teenager (I learned to drive on it) with vacuum wipers. It as almost comical how fast they would go when going coasting downhill in gear. (Side note: AMC was the last U.S. manufacturer to make electric wipers standard across the line and it wasn’t until the

I leased a 2016 Fiesta ST in 2016. About eight months before the end of the lease I started checking KBB for its value. My contract provided an end-of-lease buyout for $9600 while KBB said it was worth at least $11,000-12,000 as a trade and more for private party sale. That was a no brainer, I bought it last October an

Silly French, thinking cubism is art.

Option 2: Rent a storage unit for one month, jam it full of all your unwanted stuff, close the door, don’t lock it, walk away.

Walmart and Amazon don’t manufacture any of those store-brand products, though. The direct to customer sales model here would mean you deal directly with a Chinese sweatshop to buy your cheap plastic crap.

“That being said, this is an OLD car and it will not drive the same fashion as a modern car.”

I think it’s a bit more nuanced as the incentives and subsidies serve more as a reward for making the decision to buy an EV — in the U.S. anyway. The federal EV tax credit doesn’t lower the purchase price (though it can lower the lease cost), you get the reward when you file your taxes in April of the following year.

Example: the local Chevy/Cadillac dealer here doesn’t sell the Bolt EV but a Chevy-only dealer in a much smaller town 15 miles away does. Presumably Chevy dealers had to invest in upgrades to be able to sell them and the local dealer opted not to. (Similarly, not all Ford dealers will be selling the Mustang Mach-E at

If Mike Mercury’s flying vehicle could be called a car then that copter thing can too.

Treads kind of close to the line of violating flag etiquette.

Lighten up, Torch.

I bet the design repeats across the width of the grille.

They never did make it to Woodstock but they remember being there.

As I recall those jump seats in the BRAT qualified it as a car, thereby avoiding the chicken tax.

The passenger side mirror was optional on all vehicles.

It’s called art. An artist can better capture the mood and atmosphere the manufacturer is looking for than the realism of a photograph can. Some of the advertising artists were legendary and drew stunningly beautiful ads. Look up some of the work of Art Fitzpatrick who did a lot of the GM ads in the 1950s and ‘60s,
