Paramedics and EMTs HATE being called ambulance drivers. While driving is an important part of the job, calling us that denigrates and ignores all of our medical education, training, and experience.
I would not be remotely confident that an ambulance having all the maintenance done properly. Source: I’m a paramedic and I’ve worked at several private ambulance services. Nothing was maintained properly if it still drove because it cost money to fix/maintain.
They’re actually obligated to stabilize him and arrange transport to a facility that can provide care for him- he’s not responsible for finding his own ICU bed.
