I saw this movie for the first time after the Marilyn Monroe episodes of You Must Remember This podcast. And I was really shocked at how much I liked it (although I did like Jane Russell better.) The style and songs felt very 1950s but the dialog was much more 1930s and early 1940s, a better time for funny/witty movies…

The only feminist Disney movie is Sleeping Beauty, which should be the least feminist by plot alone.

I don’t know about Miss (although now it suggests younger so many woman prefer it) but I think a lot of married women prefer “Mrs” and, of course, they can call themselves whatever they please. But that means it will be relevant for a long time.

I agree they should have just used fictional celebrities. 

Many fans just see it as proof. “Why would he be so defensive if there wasn’t truth to it!!!” They ask. “We’re onto something!” They say.

I’m guessing he didn’t see the episode just a clip of the scene. I’d be so fucking disturbed if I saw an animated scene of me sexually engaged with a friend and co-worker. In context, it makes sense.

The Kardashians have been hit with so many genuine accusations of appropriation and outright theft I wonder why this is the one that stuck. Maybe the media actually payed attention?

This will almost certainly be dismissed and that’s surely a good thing for freedom of speech reasons. But I have zero sympathy for the site. Those rumors were reckless and based on nothing. Its Britney Spears fanfiction. And they never claimed to have facts but they knew a lot of people took it as genuine. 

This is not a contradiction but an honest question. Is Britney Spears’s father really a public figure? 

Imagine if your greatest achievement in life was that your dad was tortured before you were born?

Everyone knows that. And Dolly Parton, herself, says that the song belongs to both of them now.

It was just SUCH a badly done storyline there is nothing he could do. And whiny characters (even when they have reason to whine) are never well received.
