You get 100 credits for every four hours that pass in real time. The timer resets when you collect them. If you’re consistent you can get it two or even three times a day.

It’s a really cool feature. Shame the game loads it every single time you finish a match. Prior to this “solo HQ” fix being deployed, you could spend so much time loading into Headquarters that you wouldn’t even be able to back out before the next match began.

Granted, it’s not the best way to detail it in a game, but in a fast-paced FPS like this, either you exposite the hell out of the world or you communicate it through design and optional news clippings and background conversations.
