thank god somebody else agrees. it's the epitome of the 2010's bands that Pitchfork and small town hipsters everywhere worship

fuck Pantera. Music for beefheaded assholes who love Tapout shirts and confederate flags.

The dude willingly participated in stuff like the Foo Fighters "Hot Buns" video (for anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, just picture the band dressed as redneck truckers, washing up together naked in a truck stop shower to "Body Language" by Queen). Maybe his anecdote was poorly worded, but there's

Dave wasn't claiming that EDM wasn't a valid form of music, he even went out of his way to make an open letter clarifying this after the speech. It's not like he had time to do that during his actual speech, the Grammys started playing music over top of him talking anyway (of course)

Just sort of exists? that's the kind of thing you'd say if you've never actually listened to anything but the radio hits/singles. Admittedly, they've been guilty of putting filler on a good number of their albums so far, but the debut album is 100% great, their second album is mostly great, Wasting Light is really

yeah man, if they just clone the long haired dude on the left then they'd have an accurate band name, right?

The phrase "defend pop punk", much like the sub-genre itself, fills me with rage

yall mothafuckas have too much time on ya hands

I don't even see how they're similar

I think they were more or less referring to the public's perception of grunge. It was made out to be this humorless, self-loathing, dark genre in the mainstream. Of course anyone who actually followed the bands knew exactly how funny they could be.
