My dad wrenched on cars all the time when I was growing up, and he had probably 4 tools. A hammer, a crescent wrench, flathead screwdriver, and vise grip pliers. We swapped motors in a 66 Chevy truck (straight 6 with 3 on the tree) and a big V8 in his Ford Galaxy 500. Through it all I don’t think he used more than

Captain Ekman is totally missing the point here. These contracts aren’t about supporting the men and women that serve and support the United States of America. These contracts are written to make money for the military/industrial complex. How dare she pour water on that fire.

Up here they generally build them with gaps to accommodate fire trucks and ambulances, but I get you.

The road behind our house has become a convenient shortcut over the last couple years. There is a lot more traffic on it than there ever has been and with kids and families using the walking and biking paths a lot of us petitioned the city to put in speed bumps. All they will do is place one of those “your going this

You win!

This actually happens regularly in Germany. When I worked over there you would read about construction areas being cordoned off after they found a bomb.  They would evacuate entire neighborhoods before dealing with it.  Lots of stuff still in the ground.

Not surprised to see Frontier on this list, but JetBlue is a surprise. They’re generally held in high regard for customer service and in flight experience. I was very surprised that Allegiant and Spirit weren’t closer to the bottom. Delta is my first choice when I fly so I’m pleased to see they did well.

Eddie killed it last night.  He brought an edge to the show that’s been missing for some time now.  I thought he’d be good but damn!

I barely made it past the title...Oh Yeah!  How many cameras do they have a that airport anyway?  Bet they didn’t think they’d catch something like that!

It was the USS Stein (FF-1065)

I have a crane story of my own.

I was so hoping this was going to be a Dodge.  Why on God’s green earth would you do this, Ford?  $86,000 for less than 400 horses, and you have to look at it as it sits in your driveway!

That was perfectly done.  Well played, good sirs.  Well played indeed!

1st gear:

Completely agree, much like football everywhere but in the USA. Sports and competition absolutely builds community and affects political views throughout the world.

I don’t know if these folks are for real or not, but if this was the truck that Tesla put out there for the world to see folks would be jumping up and down.  This is a good looking rig, and I hope for the sake of the folks in the factory that it’s for real.

It’s the F-117 of trucks.  Home Depot will never know what hit them!

Ummmmm...nope.  I’ll stick with my F-150, thank you very much.

All the Internets are belong to you!

I’m glad to see the IIHS take this step. Just as we were seeing with mileage figures (before the circus came to town), change and higher standards drives innovation. That’s true in most industries, and certainly the automotive industry. We all benefit by these improvements too, so I’m glad to see them up the bar.
