Not like me!

Holy crap, the source of the “I should buy a boat” meme image is a Bjork video, and NOBODY TOLD ME? I feel shame for not knowing this.

I can’t find evidence of it in light googling, but wasn’t there a low volume Porsche that was imported to the US as a truck in order to bypass car restrictions? I’m imagining a 959 with a plywood box installed where the hood should be, which would be removed and replaced with a proper hood once it arrived in the US.

Tesla Solar cost me $10k recently by not responding to messages. If you’re trying to sell a house with Tesla solar, start the customer support process 6 months ahead of time. If you’re looking to buy a house and it has an agreement with Tesla Solar, run away quickly.

Note to self; when pricing used Teslas, optional software features are now worth $0 to me. Why would I place value on something I can’t be assured I’ll get?

Citroen 2CV would be the obvious choice. They lean like a bike already (just in the wrong direction)

I remember my grandfather buying an ‘84 Golf after a long line of Rabbits and Beetles. The salesman said of the torque and top end of the engine; “You can go any speed in any gear!”

To add to the pile, one of my favorites is the ShoGun. A Ford Festiva with the engine and front suspension from a Torus Sho dropped into the back seat.

Right? I thought it would make some nice lunchtime viewing. Now I’m melancholy. Great retelling of the personal side of the survivors of tragedy.

You wish it had an eco mode to squeeze out a few extra MPGs....and it costs $75k? I raise an eyebrow at the idea of an aftermarket power adder ever reducing gas consumption or engine wear enough to touch that $75k.

Totally agreed. Spent a decent amount of time driving in the SF Bay area and it occurred to me that something really weird has to happen for me to be killed in my car on the highway at highway speeds. They just don’t have any unprotected hard surfaces at a right angle to the flow of traffic. As long as everybody is

I once spent $100 on a pair of Ray Bans. They came with a ‘79 Monte Carlo. (I was ok with that car not getting a good cleaning, I might have missed out on the shades!)

Great article, but paragraphs 1, 2, and 4 all seem to say the same thing.
Definitely learned something I didn’t know, though.

“The Jeep drove just as well as ever”

I read that the Hyundai Veloster had the lowest new owner satisfaction a few years ago, and had an option to rent one on a trip out to CA. I figured I’d see what all the fuss was about.

Just never wear open toed shoes. Especially with socks.

My ‘84 VW Golf was made in Mexico.

It had 320k miles on it when I sold it, and it still passed NH state inspections.

I watch text summaries of video content.

This is the sexiest thing I’ve seen in a long time. It makes me feel ways about things.

I’d rather it be a bit lower tech and have less motor, but that’s me.

Fart Spark.
