Holy Grails are dime a dozen here.
Holy Grails are dime a dozen here.
But is it a holy grail?...
I never could figure out why the earlier square ones felt reasonably rugged and subsantial, but these roundy ones were so flimsy and plastic. And they always felt too big to me for what they were. Definitely a step backward.
I get it. A lot of the writers on here are too young to remember when cars like this were new. I am. Bottom line? These were great big pieces of shit. Especially this era when GM somehow managed to make a engine coolant that would rot the entire coolant system out. These were made during a sad era of American…
I would also argue that modern cars can be a little too “smoothed down” for their own good. I have basically no feedback in my Sonic. 100% grip remaining and 5% grip remaining feel identical in the steering, so it’s super sketchy to try and push it to the limit. The back communicates ever so slightly, but being a FWD…
I would rather drive my ‘74 Spitfire than any of the antiseptic EV/Hybrid turds he listed. A really fast golf cart is still basically a golf cart. The only excitement with a Tesla is wondering what part will fall off next. If I just wanted to be flung around I would buy a ticket to Six-Flags, it’s a lot cheaper.
My “old” car isn’t really that much more unreliable than my “new” car was.
A German car thats a few years old can be way more unreliable than a classic, and WAY more expensive to fix.
Seeing the Z and the Supra side by side really makes it obvious that the Supra is a bit of an overwrought mess. The Z is refreshingly simple and straightforward. I don’t care if it is a heavily reworked 370z. I like it.
The latest guides from Apple require that compliance.
UI designer here: Red on that dark blue wouldn’t pass AAA accessibility standards. Not enough contrast in general and other issues with red-green color blindness come to mind.
“I’ll be slashing the fleet further whe..... Oh look! A Holy Grail Jeep Canhardly with the optional 7 speed manual gearbox with twin reverse gears, wood grain trim, rare puce colour and it only needs new front running gear, wheels all round, new head gasket, piston rebore, new sump and complete oil change after…
I feel like that last line of his article - where he references buying another vehicle across the country, and this vehicle requiring not only space for itself - but also a donor car is telling us that the battle is either far from over... or has been lost.
i’m 42. When I was 11 I had Hodgekins disease (lymph node cancer). I recall that my dad got new insurance about a month before my diagnosis- of cancer- and told me that my daily RX was about $15000 (for a weeks worth of medicine/chemo) and I did something like 16 weeks of it. (It WOULD have been 15k out of pocket per…
Ok, real story:
Who wants fun when you can have fast right? I can’t wait until sports cars drive themselves autonomously.
I’d have to install a back rest of some kind. Something to lean against.
Clearly whoever made the rhyme, did the crime
I moved from one house to another when I was 13; me and my best friend BEGGED my dad to let us ride in the “box” of the rental truck. He finally relented, and damn...every 30 seconds one of us would slam into a wall or hit the deck. Very disorienting.
I have an SCCA Competition License, so suffice to say, I’m probably a better driver than you. Thanks though.
