This! Log out of iCloud on both your phone and Mac. Turn off bluetooth on both. Now bring log in your mac first, then your phone, ten turn on bluetooth on both. Worked for me.

The Apple leather case is pretty great,fit wise, but the colors really suck this year. My leather case from last year has held up well, and I do like the patina it has developed (I have the baseball glove brown model).
