Oh noes my road car isn’t exactly like a race car I better go cry about it on the internet.

Hardtop ap2 s2k

I was bummed there weren’t more than 33 cars, as bumping is my favorite part of Indy qualifying, but the “fast 9" at the end of today was fun to watch. Happy for Hinch and Sam Schmidt.

Now playing

Not really. The track record was set in 1996 at 236. The cars have been significantly slowed down since then. If the CART-style cars were still at the Brickyard through the year 2000, the average speed for a qualifying lap would undoubtedly be above 240 mph average, easily.

Hell, in 1998 on the Michigan and Auto Club

This is more or less the format for the race-in positions in the big show. And those races were excellent

Want an all-star format that will work, look no farther than what the Xfinity series does 3-4 times a year. Just make it a dash for the cash format.

If you want a SLIGHTLY smaller field for the final segment and everyone eligible for the million, run 3 heat races and a Main Race.

1st race qualifies 9 drivers, 2nd

Not sure how it looked from the car, but it is usually a safe assumption that if you are seeing smoke/dust in a corner, whatever caused it has tracked straight pushing it to the outside. Given a wall of dust I would chose the inside every time. The not slowing down is harder to understand but that’s why I could never

Any word on Tveter? I saw from the footage and article that he walked away, but he did collapse when he reached the marshall’s stand after the accident, and Motorsport.com even mentions that he was visibly stumbling into the ambulance to be taken to the hospital.

Wrong about the monocoque. The monocoque is built to stay together and keep things from puncturing it. The nose and rear crash structure are designed to break apart. You don’t want the thing the driver sits in to break apart. Just asking for them to get skewered by suspension parts.

Unfortunately, I’m old enough that it’s not…

This is why when you see dust and stuff ahead you slow down.

Indycar will never recover from the damage caused by Tony George.

WHY FLY IN A BORING 737 WHEN YOU CAN FLY IN THIS ULTRA JALOP VINTAGE ILYUSHIN FOR WAY LESS !!!!

Air Koryo: Ilyushins of Grandeur!

That teddy bear car was super fast, too. So good.

Jesus, they all just walked right in to that one.

“If God doesn’t hate the Browns then why did He.....oh nevermind.”

My mom had a Pontiac Vibe that I put that sticker on. Get it?
Shes a preschool teacher so she made me take it back off........

Like, I’m all for you being out and proud. I’m just offended by how confused I am. Where do you even buy this? The driver was a 50-60ish year old man with a beard and a sour look on his face.
